Client information shouldn’t be scattered across your invoices

When you’re running a contracting business, repeat customers are the backbone of your revenue. But keeping track of who owes what, when you last invoiced someone, or what notes you made after a job? That usually means digging through old invoices, scrolling through estimates, or relying on memory.

For contractors managing multiple clients at once, that fragmentation adds up to wasted time and missed details — before jobs, during follow-ups, and especially at billing time.

Introducing Enhanced Client Profiles in Joist

On June 2, 2026, Joist is launching an upgraded Client Profiles experience that gives contractors a cleaner, more organized view of every customer relationship in one place. The update introduces a refreshed interface, expanded client history, and new tools to help you stay on top of repeat business — without adopting a full CRM.

“Contractors already use Joist to manage their estimates and invoices — this update brings their customer relationships into the same view,” said Barbie Singla, Product Manager at Joist. “The goal is simple: when you open a client profile, you should immediately know everything you need to know before the next job.”

The enhanced profiles are available to all Joist users, with deeper features unlocked at Pro and Elite plan levels.

What’s new in Client Profiles

The update brings meaningful improvements across all plans, with additional capabilities for Pro and Elite users:

All plans: Refreshed profiles + private notes Every Joist user gets a cleaner profile layout with improved contact details, faster actions, and private notes that are visible only to you and your team. Keep job preferences, communication notes, or anything else you need right where you’ll find it.

Pro: Billing visibility at a glance. Pro users can now see the last invoice sent and last payment received directly inside the client profile, so you always know where things stand without hunting through your invoice history.

Elite: The full client picture. Elite users get the deepest level of organization: tags to group and filter clients, full billing history (including total lifetime value and outstanding balance), contact preferences, and source tracking to understand how each customer found your business.

“We hear from contractors all the time that they want to feel more organized and professional,” said Ryan Chong, Product Manager at Joist. “Enhanced Client Profiles is that upgrade — lightweight enough that it doesn’t feel like new software to learn, but powerful enough to make a real difference in how you manage your business.”

How to get started with Joist Client Profiles

  2. Select any client to see the refreshed profile view with their contact details and notes.
