We’ve improved Joist Payments to make getting paid faster and easier than ever.
At Joist, we’re committed to giving you the tools and resources you need to close more jobs and get paid faster. Why? Because we know you work hard, and we don’t think you should have to work harder by having to chase down payments for the services you provide. That being said, we’re excited to announce that the Joist Payments platform, built exclusively for contractors like you, is now officially powered by PayPal!
Moving forward, payments for Joist users will be moving to PayPal – a payment processing system you may have heard of. We understand that unforeseen changes to our payment collection process might be frustrating, so we wanted to clear up some common misconceptions you may have about PayPal and your Joist Payments experience.
- Myth #1: Fees Are Higher with PayPal – Nope! Processing fees will not change and will remain at 2.9% and $0.30 per transaction. If you’ve linked a bank account to your PayPal business account, then you don’t have to pay a transfer fee. Transfers typically take one to three business days to be deposited. And if a payment transaction does not go through, no fee is charged on your end.
- Myth #2: My Clients Need a PayPal Account to Pay – Your clients don’t need to sign up for anything and they don’t need a PayPal account to pay, they just pay you in whichever way works best for them, whether that be a credit or debit card. But if they do wish to pay using an existing PayPal account, then that’s just another option for them to use to pay!
- Myth #3: I Have to Manually Transfer Funds from My PayPal Account to My Bank Account – What a pain this would be! Luckily, this is false; once you activate Automatic Transfers from your PayPal account, you will receive automated daily payouts directly to your bank account, just like you had with your previous payments provider.
The truth is, Joist Payments is better than ever, and we remain dedicated to helping you conveniently and seamlessly collect payments for your business from anywhere. PayPal offers the same great payment options as before, plus new features contractors have been asking for, like instant payouts, and buy now, pay later, which means you get the money up front while your client can take their time paying PayPal the total invoice amount back.
You can set up your PayPal Business Account directly from within your Joist app. Be sure to register your account as soon as possible in order to continue using Joist Payments and avoid any disruptions to your daily operations.
Also, we want you to know that we’re here to help navigate any questions or issues you might be facing as we work to enhance your payment collection experience inside the Joist app. If you’d like to learn more about how the new Joist Payments powered by PayPal can help your business run smoother, we’ve got live chat built right into the app and we’d love to hear from you.
